Obituary of Phillip Campbell Lewis, New Waterford
It is with sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Phillip Campbell Lewis, 87, of New Waterford, on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2019 at Maple Hill Manor, New Waterford.
Born in Point Edward, he was a son of the late Cecil and Lillian 'Lily' (McKay) Lewis.
Phillip was a retired Sergeant in the Canadian Armed Forces, having served for 30 years. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and the Army, Navy, Airforce Unit 217, New Waterford. Phillip was an avid car enthusiast who enjoyed doing mechanical and body work. Phillip also loved coaching baseball and hockey in the Eastern Passage area. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Surviving are his wife, Rose (Halnuck); daughters, Pam (Kevin) Ernst, Blockhouse, NS, Brenda Lewis, Eastern Passage; sons, Phil Lewis, Dominion, Terry (Lisa) Lewis, Wetiskiwin, AB; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, Phillip was predeceased by brothers, Cecil and Walton; sister, Betty.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith Street, New Waterford on Monday, Nov. 25, 2019 from 2-4 p.m. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 26 at 11 a.m. in All Saints Anglican Church, New Waterford, with Rev. Myrna MacMullin officiating. A luncheon will be held in All Saints Anglican Church Hall with burial to follow in St. John Cemetery, Point Edward.
