Obituary of Deborah Ann "Debbie" Billard, Glace Bay

Deborah Ann “Debbie” Billard

Glace Bay

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Debbie Billard “Kitten”, age 60, on Friday, November 22nd at home with her family by her side following a brief battle with cancer.

Born in Glace Bay, Debbie was the daughter of the late Lila Poirier and Charles Billard.

Debbie was the owner and president of Island Wide Plumbing. She was a unique, courageous lady with the heart the size of a house. She was the kind of woman who was there for anyone and expected nothing in return. When she loved you it was for life. Debbie had a great sense of humor and was the life of the party.

She loved camping and looked forward to her summers out at the Mira Water Park; where she made life long friends. She was also an avid bingo player. Debbie had great love for her family, especially her kids and grandkids. She loved her fur babies, who never left her side. She also enjoyed baking and was known as the, “Cookie Monster.”

Debbie left a powering presence in your heart and mind, she was a true warrior, full of compassion, love and life.

Debbie will be sadly missed by her best friend and soul mate, Paul “Too Tall” as well as her family and large circle of friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Melissa (Garlene), stepdaughters, Brittany (Kyle), Melanie (Levi), Lauryn, sons, Donnie (Ellen), Jimmy (Dessi), stepson, Trevor (Michaela), sisters, Charlene (Blaine), Faye ( Tommy), Susan (Charlie), Mona (Ken) and her brother, Jimmy.

Also surviving are Debbie’s pride and joy, her grandchildren, Blake, Grayson, Sofie, Bryleigh, Brayden, chosen grandchild, Bobbie-Lynn “Porkchop” and her new grandson expected in April.

Besides her parents, Debbie was predeceased by her brother, David, grand niece, Ceilidh and her brother in law, Billy McNeil.
