My sincere condolences to the McNeil family.
I have such fond memories of growing up with Steve. He lived a few houses down from me. He obviously had great memories of growing up and playing hockey with us all as it was mentioned in his obituary. We all had such a great childhood in New Waterford. We played every sport known to man together. I remember him as a great guy who seldom got into the fights the rest of did.
He was too young to pass away at only 60. This is too young to be taken away from his loving family.
He dedicated his life to service and I am so grateful for that. This is a life well lived.
Take care through this very difficult time.

I have fond memories of our time together in Shearwater NS both on the ice where he protected our net and the 13 weeks we spent together in Borden on our QL5 course. One of the nicest gentleman I ever met he was always there to lend a hand. My condolences to his family while they suffer the loss of a great man. RIP buddy.

I was shocked and deeply saddened to learn of the loss of Steve. We served together as younger men with the Military Police Detachment in Shearwater in the mid 1980"s. Steve had a quiet and confident air about him, and he had a wry sense of humour that would arrive at the most appropriate moment. Behind that quiet strong persona was a man with a heart of gold. A true family man, his family always came before everything else in his life. We were a very close knit unit back then, and losing Steve is akin to losing a brother. My deepest sympathies to his beloved family. The world is certainly a sadder place without him, but I know that he's not too far away, as he resides in the hearts of his bride, his daughters, and his beloved grandchild. Guys like Steve are immortal, and they are very, very special.

Condolences to the McNeil family on the loss of their brother, husband, father and grandfather. I sit here remembering Steve from high school at BEC, he was a kind quiet guy. Haven't seen him since high school, it sounds like he was a total success (not surprising) not only in his employment but in his personal/family life. May he rest in peace. Fly high with the angels.
