Obituary of Sharon Ann Nugent, New Waterford

sWe, the family of the late Sharon Ann Nugent regret to announce her passing on November 27th, 2019, at home, with her family by her side.

Born in New Waterford, Sharon was the daughter of Effie (MacMillan) Nugent and the late Edward Nugent.

Upon her retirement from her 30-year career with the Toronto Catholic District School Board, Sharon returned to New Waterford.  She treasured her time as a teacher and through her many stories, it was easy to see that she was a valuable educator who saw the best in each child who had the privilege of being taught by Ms. Nugent. 

Family was of upmost importance to Sharon and she dedicated her time and attention to her mother and her many nieces and nephews.  Sharon’s thoughtfulness and constant support will never be forgotten. 

Sharon is survived by her siblings, Dan (Thelma) Nugent, Newfoundland, Leona Nugent, New Waterford, Roseanne (Donnie) Manzine, Ontario/New Waterford, Ellen (George) Sinclair, New Brunswick, as well as brother-in-law George McSween, New Waterford and many nieces and nephews, Graig, Nadine, Daniel, Jonathan, Genevieve,  Michelle, Matthew, Edward and Michael.

She is predeceased by her sister Marguerite McSween and brother Michael.

As per Sharon’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation has taken place under the direction of V.J. McGillivray funeral Home, 380 Smith Street, New Waterford.

Interment will be held at a later date in Mount Carmel Cemetery, New Waterford.
