It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our mother, Regis L. McKinnon (Williams) on December 8, 2019.
Born in Ingonish on July 8, 1927, she was a daughter of the late George and Mary (Lambert) Williams.
She was a dedicated mom and friend to everyone.
Mom was predeceased by her loving husband, Theo McKinnon; two brothers, George and Maurice Williams; four sisters, Mary McPhee, Celeste Timmons, Alice Syms and Emma Shmuir; two granddaughters, Angel McKinnon and Tawny McKinnon.
She will be leaving behind four sons, Ted McKinnon (Elaine), Brian McKinnon (Tina), Blair McKinnon (Donna) and Wayne McKinnon; three daughters, Mary Marsh (Glenn), Diane Burke (Sheldon), and Irene Clements (Robert); two sisters, Lucy Robinson and Anita Couvlier; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly. Mom is also survived by her daughter/granddaughter, Sherry McKinnon, whom she loved and called her own. They have a special bond.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Dec. 12 from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. all in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home Chapel, 380 Smith Street, New Waterford, with Father Ray Huntley officiating. Donations in her memory may be made to a charity of one's choice. We would like to say a special thank you to her second family, the staff at MacGillivray Guest Home. You all made her feel loved and secure. No doubt, you will still have a chuckle when you think of mom and her sense of humor.
