Obituary of Donna (Steele)Morrison, Glace Bay

With broken hearts we the family announce the passing of Donna Morrison, age 58, our mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, niece and friend on Monday, March 16, 2020 at the CBRH, Sydney. Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Angus and Mary (Tracey) Steele. After a 30 year courageous fight with rheumatoid arthritis, Donna lost her battle when most of us would have given up long ago, she would not. Donna was a lifelong resident of Glace Bay, she was an avid reader and loved watching movies. Although her illness took over a big part of her life, we remember the good days. She had the most beautiful big blue eyes, just like her dad’s. Donna loved to dance and was a fun person to be around. As a single parent she was determined to give her boys a good life and earned a degree, but it was cut short due to her health. Donna is survived by her two boys, Jeffrey (Nicole), David (Luke), her two precious granddaughters, Kersten, Haley, two sisters, Brenda, Diane, four brothers, John, Angie, Steven, Alfred and many nieces and nephews. Donna was predeceased by her beautiful parents who are waiting in heaven with open arms. Cremation has taken place. A PRIVATE FAMILY SERVICE officiated by Fr. Duaine Devereaux will be held in the V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Center, Glace Bay. Donations in memory of Donna may be made to the Arthritic Association or a charity of one’s choice.
