Obituary of Christina 'Chrissie' DeGiobbi, New Waterford

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Chrissie (Christina) DeGiobbi, on Sunday, March 29, 2020 at age 50. Born in New Waterford, she is the daughter of Ann Marie (MacKinnon) Racki, Michael (Linda) Racki and birth father, Lawerence Hogan; daughter in-law to Anthony and Margie DeGiobbi. Chrissie spent her childhood years in New Waterford and later moved to BC, then to Kitchener, Ontario where she met and fell in love with her husband, Tony. She then moved back to New Waterford, where she and Tony were married and raised their family. Chrissie loved her family with all her heart. She was an amazing cook who could make something out of nothing and have it taste great. She loved her family and friends with deep passion and when surrounded by her loved ones, she could be seen beaming with pride. She had a big heart, a kind soul, an infectious laugh, a smile that could light up a room and warm loving hugs to give. Surviving are her husband of 24 years, Tony (Anthony) DeGiobbi, and her pride and joy, her children, sons, Dante, Cole, Jesse, Tyler, Michael (Nearing) and her daughter, Hannah; grandchildren, Kalli, Carson and Brinley; sisters, Loni (Robert) McCarthy, Shelley (Steve) Kunkel; brother, Michael Craig (Lynne) Racki; sister-in-law, Sheila (Winston) Hiscock and brothers-in-law, Robbie (Rhonda) and Wayne DeGiobbi. Her many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and her children’s friends who she often referred to as her 'adopted' kids. Special mention to her life-long friends, Lisa (Fabian) Pustai, Melissa (Richard) Scott, Brenda Aucoin and Debbie (Trevor) Power-Leudy who was like a sister to Chrissie and to whom we couldn’t get through these difficult times without. There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care and guidance of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith Street, New Waterford. A celebration of life will be held at a later date and will be announced when social gatherings are permitted. Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at: www.vjmcgillivray.ca.
