Obituary of Annie Mae MacKenzie, N.W.

It is with great sadness we, the children, announce the passing of our beloved mom, Annie Mae MacKenzie on May 7 2020. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother., Born in Cheticamp Aug. 1, 1939 and raised in New Waterford, she was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret Muise. She was a devoted Catholic and member of the Rose Retreat and Cursillo Movement. Mom was an avid dart player and was a very active member of the New Waterford Pensioners' Club where she will be greatly missed. Mom is survived by her loving children, Robert (Gail), Wayne (Karen), Cecilia (Bob), Joanne, Mary (Ken), Darlene, and Raymond (Nancy); grandchildren, Bradley, Lindsay, Roy, Sander, Robin, Mark, Courtney, Kenzie, Hunter, Blaire and great-granddaughter, Chiara. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Raymond; siblings, Evelyne, Pat, Bernie and David; also son-in-law, Blair. The family would like to send a special thank you to VON, Palliative Care, New Waterford Pharmasave Staff and a special thank you to niece, Frances Maglario who attended to moms special needs. Cremation has taken place under the direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, New Waterford. A Funeral Mass of celebration will be held at the Parish Church of St. Leonard on Friday, July 16 at 10 a.m. with Father Jim Oliver officiating.
