Dear Susan and Kathy
Sending you both our condolences. My fond memories with your Dad were the times my Mom would visit your Nan for an afternoon. And at his bowling alley too! Another was Christmas Eve day, your Dad would bring Uncle Clarence and Aunt Kit over for a visit. Bringing bags of gifts.
He will be greatly missed, your parents are together again. Sending much love from both of us.

Dear Susan and Kathy ,
Your dad is a treasured part of the memories my youth. As you have said the boys and Rose's Service Station. I remember many summer evenings as a boy watching your dad Hughie and my dad Wes and a small gathering at the station. They were doing what they did best, reinventing the wheel. Then through school at Central, church at Calvin and community life in New Waterford, it was my privilege to meet your parents on many occasions. Great people, The Salt Of The Earth. Please take care, you have been left a great legacy, Loved, Honored and Respected Parents. Wesley M. Rose

Isabel and I and my mother Marguerite wish to offer our sincere condolences to Hughie’s family on his passing. We met Hughie and Dot in 1993 in Englewood, Florida at my parents place there, they were just so friendly and outgoing it was like we had known them forever. It was great reconnecting with them at community events like the Morien fall fair, they were always interested in everyone.

Susan and Kathy…Uncle Hughie and Aunt Dot were a cornerstone of our family…always there for us in the best of times and the saddest. They lived such long, full lives that it seemed we’d always have them in ours. I’ll remember the many visits we had over the years…and laughter was a big part of it, your Dad in his own quiet way. What a ‘team’ they were. Always in my heart…Melva xo

Hughie & Dot epitomized character, kindness & high ideals. If ever a couple balanced each other, it was them. Hughie was so genuine and a true gentleman. To me & my family, he represents the end of a generation and, in some ways, an era. The love and kindness they showed to all family will never be forgotten. To my cousins, Susan & Kathy, know that I share your heartache but it is tempered by the fact that your parents are once again together. May your many wonderful memories bring you comfort. Rest in peace my dear Uncle. You shall be missed.
