Obituary of Reginald "Reggie" O'Neill, Glace Bay
Reggie O’Neill, age 61 passed away suddenly on Tuesday, May 26th, 2020 at his residence in Glace Bay. Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Francis and Mary Florence (MacNeil) O’Neill.
Reggie was employed with Devco Railroad for 23 years. After Devco he took on a job as a dispatcher for Bud’s Taxi, Glace Bay. Reggie was an avid Maple Leafs and Blue Jays fan. But mostly, he will be remembered as a very compassionate man with a great sense of humour. Reggie was a member of St. Anne’s Church, Glace Bay.
Reggie is survived by his wife, Debbie (Gouthro) O’ Neill, formerly of Reserve Mines, two daughters, Amanda (Ray Parsons), Alberta, Melissa (Jonathan Devison) at home, one son, Michael (Jennifer) Gouthro, Ontario, one sister, Sharon (Brian Perry), Glace Bay, one brother, Craig O’Neill, Glace Bay, his special little buddy, Audrina, numerous nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters in law, aunts and uncles.
Besides his parents, Reggie was predeceased by his father and mother in law, Harry “Mutt” and Eleanor Gouthro and his brother in law, Gordie.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, Cremation and Reception Center, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay. A PRIVATE SERVICE will be held in the funeral home chapel with interment in St. Anne’s Cemetery.
