Obituary of William 'Billy' Burns - Sydney,New Waterford

We, the sons of William 'Billy' Burns, regret to announce his passing on July 3, 2020 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Billy was born December 21st, 1956 to Bill and Anne Burns of River Ryan. He is survived by his long-time friend and companion, Lynn Conrad; son, Billy (Erin) and their children, Emily and Liam and son, Nathan, Vancouver; brothers, Pat and Tony; special niece and godchild, Carrie McKinnon along with many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. Dad was employed with Devco for many years and was a well known musician in his earlier years; one of his first bands was Bittersweet. Some of dad’s favourite pastimes were driving his motorcycle, painting vehicles, tinkering under the hood and spending time with his dogs. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Mary (Burns) Alaine and Louise (Burns) McIsaac; brother-in-law, Ronnie McIsaac; maternal and paternal grandparents. Rest in peace Dad . . . you fought the good fight. Fly high with the Angels! You will always be missed but never forgotten! Cremation has taken place under the care and guidance of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, New Waterford. A private graveside service will be held in St. Michael's Cemetery, River Ryan, at a later date.
