Obituary of Ronald Charles MacDougall

It is with deepest sympathy that we announce the passing of Ronald Charles "Ron" MacDougall, age 60. Ronnie passed away suddenly on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in Glace Bay on February 2, 1956, he was the son of Angus Joseph and the late Isabell (Favaro) MacDougall. Ron was a carpenter by trade and retired from the maintenance department at Lloydminster Public School Division, Lloydminster, Saskatchewan. He was a past member of Cape Breton Search and Rescue, a past member of St. John Ambulance and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 5, Donkin. He will always be remembered for his love of the outdoors. Ron is survived by his father, Angus; daughters, Stacey, Bedford and Maggie, Glencoe; sisters, Coleen, Lloydminster, AB; Cecelia, Sydney; numerous nieces, nephews and friends., Besides his mother, he was also predeceased by maternal grandparents, Luigi and Bertha Favaro and paternal grandparents, Ronald and Elsie MacDougall. There will be no visitation; cremation has taken place under the care and direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. A graveside service officiated by Fr. Norman MacPhee will be held 1pm, Saturday, October 15, 2016, in St. Gregory’s Parish Cemetery, Donkin. Online condolences to the family can be expressed at: www.vjmcgillivray.ca
