Obituary of Pearl Moore, Glace Bay

It is with broken hearts and great sadness that we the family of Pearl Moore, age 87 announce her passing on Tuesday, July 21st, 2020 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney with her husband Albert and daughter, Gloria by her side. Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Billy and Beatrice (Boozan) Campbell. Over the years Pearl enjoyed bowling, darts, and playing bingo with her buddy, Sherry. Pearl loved sports, she was an avid fan of the Toronto Blue Jays and loved watching curling, especially Mark Kennedy. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 70 years, Albert Moore, her two daughters, Gloria at home, Alaine Taylor (Dave) and one son, Billy (Debbie). Pearl is also survived by her grandchildren, Tammy Hepditch (Dave), Matthew Moore (Liane), Christopher Moore (Ashley), Tracey Mortenson (Bill) and great grandchildren, Jamie, Blake, Ava, Hudson, Austin, Freya and Topanga, sisters, Rose Kosick, Barbara Simmons (George), brothers, Charles, David (Diane), Eric and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, Pearl was predeceased by her grandson, Scott, sisters, Eva, Rita, Doreen, June, Betty, Diane, brothers, Roy, Elmore, Robert, Wayne and Robert and Aubrey in infancy. Special thanks to Glace Bay Hospital and Cape Breton Regional Hospital, to the doctors and nurses, VON’s and special thank you to Debbie Wingate and Palliative Care Team. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 24th, 2020 at 11 am in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Chapel, Cremation & Reception Center, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay. Rev. Bonnie Wynn officiating. Interment to follow in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Pearl’s memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Children’s Wish Foundation.
