Dear Kim, Cheryl, Todd, and Stanley; it was with profound sadness that Cathy and I read about the passing of your father. We are quite aware of how deeply you loved and respected your dad and we hope that you take comfort in the fact that Pat lived a full and productive life. We understand, however, how deep the pain is with his loss and pray that with the support of your collective families, that time will lessen your grief.

I had the honour of meeting Pat last summer on a trip to Glace Bay to visit Jean with my girlfriend Alanah (Jeans Granddaughter). It was such a pleasure to meet Pat. He had me laughing till I had tears in my eyes with his witty comments and interesting stories. Will surely miss him and will always remember our meeting.

Kim, Cheryl, Todd and Stanley, I am so absolutely devastated to learn of your Dad's passing. I had 1st met he and your Mom back in the 60's, he was a gentleman then and perhaps more so to my last chat with him. My last opportunity to meet with your Dad was at Branch 3 Legion where I was having a drink with my brother Wendell when it reopened under the new COVID-19 restrictions when your Dad happened in and carrying his portable O2 machine, we had a wonderful time, shared a few laughs, stories and memories. You were so blessed to have such wonderful parents and I tip my hat to your Dad as he joins your Mom in Heaven. God Bless old friend, Rest In Peace

I do not know where to start as I had thought Pat had passed away years ago ,Pat & I served together on HMCS MICMAC 1956 ,57 & 1958 ,I left and said goodbye to my Shipmates Pat was one of them ,He had sketch a map
of our cruises for the above years .His price was $2.00 & I was Drafted to HMCS Stadacona before I paid him ,
In 2000 my wife Norma and I Attended a Naval Reunion in Digby hosted by Admiral Desmond Piers Naval Association, At this show they had log books that we signed on arrival, Yes I found your dad's name in the Micmac log ,, The search was over as my wife and i found him with your mom in the hall ,What a great feeling
to meet him again after all the years ,, I went up to him and of course he had no idea who i was & i said i owe you
$2.00 and gave him aTwoonie , He had forgot after 42 years,,Yes now we were Shipmates once again Pat being a
Radar Plotter and me TAS SONAR had spend many hours on watch ,,only 20 feet apart. No he did not take the money he said that there must be interest after all the years ,but would take a two dollar bill ,,of course I did not have so after the 4 of us talked about the the years ago ,He told me he had a paint business in CB ,,I tried for years to find him again thinking he must have passed away ,,Yes I still have my $2.00 sketch of our cruises on the wall in our recreation room ,,I have never met any other Shipmates from the Micmac
Pat sorry that it was not to be that we would get together again here on earth but who knows in the Heavens
above there maybe a place old Shipmates can meet again ,,RIP MY friend and Shipmate

Dad, it is almost incomprehensible to me that I will never see you smile at me again with those "square lips" which I inherited. Your kindness and the empathy you showed is how I will try to live the rest of my days. You were not only the most wonderful Dad and role model but one of THE GREATEST MEN IN THIS WHOLE WIDE WORLD!! . My mornings always started with a call to my hero, my Dad!! I will miss you forever ! Love,The Red Hen . XOXO
