I appreciate the 2nd home and always remember the warm fire in basement. Thanks to Joey for the many drives to Sydney for movies, the worldly advice when we stepped out of line. He imparted a lot of advice. He could have been a stand up comedian - what a sense of humor.
Joey's dedication to public matters was unprecedented.
His love and outreach to all will help make the future without him a little more bearable.

This news made me very sad but also allowed me to reflect on the great memories and closeness I had with Joe in my early years. Lots of fun adventures and good conversations especially as we got older and he knew sage advice was welcome from time to time. He was warm and dedicated to family, community, and Funny beyond words, he and my Dad could be a "explosive mix" when it came to humour. As we must mourn his passing and reflect we can also celebrate a life well lived !
Growing up he was the proverbial second Dad to me in good and bad (lol there was some of that we put him through) and I thank him for that. My sincere condolences to Reynelda (my second mom), Bob and Kenny ( the best of friends you can have). My prayers and thoughts are truly with you.
When my dad passed away a friend shared this quote with me from of all writers Dr Zeus! It stuck with me.
"don't be sad that it is over but glad that it happened"
I am glad Joe Bruce lived and lived well !

Reynelda, Bob and Kenny,
Joe will be missed greatly, but never forgotten. A smile is always quick to follow any thoughts of Joey. I knew whenever we visited him he would have some new jokes, along with his old favourites, to tell us. I still have some lotto tickets he purchased for my birthday, that he sent after the draw date, to let me know I hadn't won anything.
