Obituary of Raymond Malcolm MacLeod, New Waterford
It is with painful hearts that we, the family of the late Raymond 'Babe' MacLeod, 84, announce his passing on August 19, 2020 at his home with his daughter.
Born in New Waterford, he was a son of the late Piper Dan MacLeod and Mary (MacDonald) MacLeod.
Dad was a very religious man and loved going to church. He loved to go for drives around the community popping in to visit family. He was kind and loved his family dearly. Dad loved sports and was an avid Toronto Blue Jays and Toronto Maple Leafs fan. He liked to play his mouth organs and listen to Scottish music. He loved to talk and tell stories and listen to a good joke.
Babe is survived by his children, Myrna (John) Tonary, Raymond (Sharon) MacLeod and Ernie Deveaux; grandchildren, Jon (Crissy), Sara (Peter), Elyse, Nikki, Steven, Riley, Jennifer, Brett, Kyle, Colin, Robyn, Chelsey; great-grandchildren, Dalys, Kooper, Harrisen, Loki, and Raina, as well as many nieces and nephews and his sister, Christina MacKenzie.
Besides his parents and wife, Liz, he was predeceased by sisters, Elizabeth Doucette, Sarah Gallagher, Theresa MacLeod, Margaret MacLeod; brothers, Mickey, Cecil, Daniel 'Buster' and Archie.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2020, from 10 a.m.-12 noon in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith Street, New Waterford (please respect social distancing regulations and wear a mask while on the funeral home premises). A private Funeral Mass of celebration will be held in the Parish Church of St. Leonard with Father Ray Huntley officiating. Burial will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery, New Waterford.
