Obituary of Parker Allen MacDonald, New Waterford

It is with great sadness that we, the family of Parker MacDonald, announce Parker’s unexpected passing at home from natural causes. Born on Feb. 4, 1962, Parker was the son of the late Angus 'Curley' and Mary 'Muckie' (MacNeil) MacDonald. Parker spent many years working as a sound/light man with various bands and venues throughout Cape Breton Island. He will be remembered for his gentle nature, quick sense of humor and his contagious smile. Besides his parents, Parker was predeceased by his brothers, Jackie, Billy and Jimmy. He is survived by his sister, Marcia (Jim) Currie; brothers, Allister (Rhoda) and Paul(Jeanette); sisters-in-law, Lorna MacDonald and Brenda MacDonald, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care and guidance of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, New Waterford. A private graveside service will take place in Mount Carmel Cemetery at a later date. Donations in his memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
