Obituary of Neila Nugent, Lingan

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Neila Nugent on Sunday, November 1, 2020 at home surrounded by her family. Neila worked at the Quality Store, New Waterford, for 20 years. She enjoyed spending her summers camping at Ben Eoin Campground making many memories with the friends she made there. Neila will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her husband of 55 years, Joe; her son, Steve (Sherry) and her two grandsons, AJ and Mason. Neila is also survived by her brother, Mel (Linda) McIsaac, Truro; sister, Heather Kavanaugh, New Waterford; sister-in-law, Annette McIsaac, Glace Bay; brother-in-law, Bill Sehl, NB. Neila was predeceased by her son, Allan Joseph (AJ); her parents, Allan and Flora (MacDougall) McIssac; her brother, Dan McIsaac and sister, Carmie Sehl. The family would like to thank Dr Matthew Smith in Halifax for his care. Also, the VON for the compassionate care provided to Neila in recent years. A very special thank you to Shannon MacKinnon for the extra special care she provided. To the nurses on 3A and 4B from the Cape Breton Regional Hospital during her recent admission. As well, a thank you to the Palliative Care team for their support during these last days at home. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 6, 2020 from 6-9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith Street, New Waterford. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, we ask that all in attendance wear a mask and practice social distancing. A private Funeral Mass of celebration will take place in the Parish Church of St. Leonard with Father Peter MacLeod officiating. Burial will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, River Ryan.
