I was sorry to hear about Connie's illness and passing. I'm so glad I dropped in to see her (and leave with muffins) last summer. My deep condolences to all the family at this difficult time. It was never boring working with Barb she had a great sense of humor and was dedicated to protecting all of her fellow union workers.

I don't know what I'll miss the most about Aunt Connie: Her kindness, her unique and hilarious sense of humour, or her devote loyalty to her friends and family that my parents first told me about many years ago. Selfishly speaking, though, I'll have to vote for the freshly baked goods on her kitchen table that always magically appeared every time I visited her throughout the years. On second thought, maybe I'll go with the homemade dinners - loved those ribs! - that, come hell or high water, she always personally delivered to me every time I was in Cape Breton. I'll miss her terribly but, thankfully, her memory will remain strong with those of us lucky enough to be part of her life here on Earth.
Brian MacKinnon.

My sister and I were very sorry to hear of Barb’s passing. She was a strong believer in everything union and yes she fought hard for every member. We are sure should could make anyone in the WWF back down if fighting for her union sisters & brothers. Barb was great coworker and we were also fortunate to call her friend. Many a laugh shared ( and Costco trip also included for those paper towels & toilet paper to cram in the car) when in Halifax for union meetings. Rest In Peace Barb, I am sure you will be keeping St Peter busy as you fight on our behalf when our time comes to go through the Pearly Gate.
Deepest sympathies to all of her family .
