Obituary of William Reginald(Reg) "Dusty" McDonald, Glace Bay

In the early morning hours of Friday, Nov. 20th, 2020 at the age of 79, our Dad, Reg found peace after a brief battle with cancer. He passed away at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born with a stubborn streak to Elizabeth (Campbell) and Harvey McDonald, this strong willed and determined man worked for 33 years in the coal mines to provide for his family. Da loved baseball as well as hockey, staying true blue as a Jays and Leaf’s fan throughout his life. He was a jack of all trades and could be found lending a hand to family and friends with any Reno they might have had. He was a strong, quiet man who loved animals, fishing, watching western movies, and listening to any music with a beat. Our dad is already missed by his rock and constant, his wife, Millie (McNeil), whom he loved for the past 57 years, his children, Reg (Linda), Lorraine, Ann, Margie, Denise (Michael), 12 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren. Dad will also be missed by his 3 sisters, Margie (Ray) Morrison, Denise (Gerald) Clarkson, and Nancy (Bernie) Ellsworth, many nieces and nephews, and his favorite daughter in law, Lise McDonald. Waiting for his arrival in heaven are his parents, brothers, Joe & Jimmy, sister, Colleen Martin and nephew, Chad Ellsworth. A special thank you to Dr. Dale Miller(Urologist) and the staff at C.C.U., CBRH, Sydney. Memorial donations in memory of Reg may be made to your local S.P.C.A.
