Obituary of Reynelda Mae Roach, New Waterford
We are saddened to announce the passing of our wonderful mother, Reynelda Mae Roach on Sunday, November 22, 2020.
Born in New Waterford, Mom was the daughter of the late Thomas and Rita (MacKenzie) Dwyer.
She was predeceased by brothers, Tommy, Reggie and sister, Eileen. She was also predeceased by her first husband, Freeman 'Hubby' Spencer; her second husband, Eugene 'Papa' Roach and her beloved son, Ronnie.
Left to mourn are sons, Tim (Terri) and Dwayne (Heather); daughter-in-law, Cathy McRury and sister-in-law, Helen Dwyer.
Mom's most precious gifts were her grandchildren; Megan, Morgan, Hannah, Madisyn, Jack and Abbey. Mom was lucky enough to find the love of her life when she married Eugene and joined the incredible Roach family. In her younger years, Mom joined the New Waterford Homemakers under the guidance of Janet Wilcox. She worked side-by-side with Diane Desveaux for years and they continued this friendship right up until her passing. Mom shared a very special friendship with Gerry Corbett that spanned decades. They enjoyed many pots of tea at the kitchen table over the years. Mom was a deeply religious woman; her faith was her strength. She served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Agnes Parish and taught Religious Education at Central School.
Thank you to Kendra Baldwin and her incredible staff at the Maple Hill Manor for taking such great care of our Mom these past number of years. Thank you to Dr. Azer and Trish for everything you've done for Mom. Thanks to Basil McGillivray for your compassion and friendship during this time.
Mom, you need not look for your home any further... You have finally gone home.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. A Funeral Mass of celebration will be held in the Parish Church of St. Leonard, New Waterford, at a later date. Donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, New Waterford. Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at: www.vjmcgillivray.ca.
