Obituary of Michael Conrad 'Connie' Kalbhenn, New Waterford

It is with sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Michael Conrad 'Connie' Kalbhenn, 64, on Friday, Dec. 4, 2020 at the QE2 Halifax Infirmary. Connie was a son of the late Ludwig and Margaret 'Tuddy' (MacDonald) Kalbhenn. Connie was a stone dust sampler with Devco and later a security guard with Stream in New Waterford. He was a proud recipient of the Medal of Bravery for his rescue efforts at Westray Mine. Connie enjoyed fishing, hunting, music and his dogs, Chip and Peaches. Surviving are his wife, Marie (Coish); daughters, Michelle Kalbhenn, New Waterford, Joann Kalbhenn (Pat), Glace Bay; grandchildren Jamie Lynn, Madison and Zac; mother-in-law, Marie Coish; several step-brothers and step-sisters. There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. A private funeral service will be held in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home Chapel, 380 Smith Street, New Waterford at a later date.
