I just heard that Bernie has passed. I am so shocked and saddened to hear this. I worked with Bernie for many years and learned so much from him and enjoyed talking to him. He was smart, diplomatic, a master of parliamentary rules, funny and often spoke of his love for his family. I often refer to advice he had given through the years which I still follow today. Bernie will live on in the memories of the countless people he has helped through the years. My deepest condolences to his family.

We are deeply saddened by the loss of our brother in law and friend. Bernie was the rock of our family and the one you knew you could always count on if you needed help. He was an amazing son in law to my mom and dad. He helped them immensely through good and bad times ( with a smile on his face) and settled the estates of both when they passed which was a ton of work that we all appreciated.
He was an awesome Uncle to our daughter Megan and we always felt lucky that she had a special bond with her Uncle Bernie. He always made the extra effort to make those around him feel safe and loved . We often marveled at his ability to remember and deliver great jokes, trivia and so many diverse facts about any topic. He was very smart but also so much fun.
Bernie was a part of my life from the time I was a teenager and I will
miss him so much. He and Noel welcomed Judy with open arms over 40 years ago and we have all been close family ever since. it is hard to believe he is gone. It is so surreal. We loved him as a brother. He was a great husband, father, brother snd friend.... a life well lived!

My sincerest condolences. Among my blessings in life, I count having had Bernie as a friend. He was always a pillar of support to his friends and family. Despite geographical separation after high school ,we never lost touch and I so looked forward to visiting every time I was home. Bernie had a very successful career in the public sector because of his thoughtfulness and diligent focus on doing “the right thing”. Very sorry to hear of Bernie’s passing.
My memories of him go back 30 plus years when I was pumping gas. Bernie would stop in at least once a week, make small talk, of course always with a laugh and encouraged me to pursue a dream of attending the Atlantic Police Academy. For two years the town was not hiring so it made it difficult to get into the academy. He didn’t give up. He suggested I shift my focus to the military police, so I did. Within about 4 months I was packing my bags, heading into the unknown. Fast forward 30 years and I’ll soon be retiring.
His interest, encouragement, and guidance set me on a career path I have not regretted. His brief conversations created opportunity upon opportunity for me. I have a lot to be thankful for, and knowing Bernie was at the top of the list.
