Obituary of Donald Malcolm McNeil

Donald Malcolm McNeil Dominion Donald McNeil, age 88 passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, October 21, 2016 at the Glace Bay Hospital. Born in Glace Bay and a resident of Dominion, he was the son of the late Michael and Mary Jane (Campbell) McNeil. Donald enjoyed playing cards and he always made sure he had the winning hand. He truly enjoyed spending time with his family and listening to old time fiddle music. Donald was employed at Devco and B & D Ready Mix Company. He retired from work later in life. Donald is survived by his very good friend, Florence McNeil, daughters, Dorothy, Reserve Mines, Mary, Dominion, Katherine Rose, Donna Marie (Jerry), Glace Bay, one son, Gerard (Denise), Glace Bay, grandchildren, Tommy (Roseanne), Katherine, Ashley (Peter), Donnie, Ronnie (Catherine), great grandchildren, Ivy, Devon, Chloe, Christopher, Lincoln, Chantelle, Ron Jr. and G.T. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Kathleen Mary (McNeil) McNeil, two sons, Donnie and Donald Charles, sisters, Evelyn, Mary, Agnes Poirier, Toronto, Margaret O’Quinn, Newfoundland, brothers, Earl, Michael and Ronald. Visitation is Tuesday from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay. The funeral mass, officiated by Fr. Dan Boudreau is Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Bridgeport with interment in the parish cemetery followed by a reception in the church hall.
