I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Henry at St Anne School. We became friends and colleagues and, ever since then, we would see each other out walking or in one of the local grocery stores and we would stop and chat and remind ourselves how much we both really enjoyed teaching there and the fun we'd have with the staff. Henry always had a smile on his face and was kind to everyone he met, especially his students. I know you will all remember him fondly and so will I. Rest in peace, my friend.

To Cynthia, his girls and all of Henry's extended family, we send along our deepest condolences on his passing. I had the honor and pleasure of working with Henry for a number of years both at Morrison Jr. High and Oceanview. He always managed to make the work environment a more pleasurable one and was always approachable no matter what the situation was. I feel very blessed to have known him in that capacity for many years. He always spoke lovingly of you, Cynthia, and his girls. Although his dedication and work to his community is well known for decades, you knew him as a husband, father, brother, uncle, and so proudly, as a grandfather. May the memories you all have of him in those roles, as times passes, serve as sources of comfort, enduring love and strength. A line written for my dad's obituary this summer seems so fitting to be said about Henry. "If the worth of one's life can be measured by the lives one touched, his would be priceless." Rest in peace, Henry, and may his memory comfort you all through this difficult time and in the future.

To the Boutilier family,
Henry was a giant in our community. I have so many fond memories of him: as a player playing Little League with the Firemen Cardinals at Harry MacMullen's field, to being a standout on the Maritime Champion '71 Junior Miners, to being the reason that Porter Blinn and the Cincinatti Reds scouting staff conducted a camp at South St in '74, as an official and coach with Glace Bay Minor Hockey and as Manager of the GB Colonels where he was most at home and brought so much pride to our small town. Through all the years of the GB Colonels and Big League success there was one constant: Henry Boutilier. There can be no doubt that Henry could have managed in the Major Leagues. He was so quiet and unassuming with a matter-of-fact attitude. He truly was one of a kind. Please accept our deepest condolences. He will be missed. Rest In Peace Henry.

Cynthia, Michelle, Mary Elizabeth and the extensive Boutilier clan, please accept our sincere condolences on Henry's passing. His playing coach and managing abilities have been well documented with many selections to numerous sports hall-of-fame. However, Henry was also a fine teacher and administrator. Professionally, he left his mark there as well. Henry came from a large family of siblings and he led the example. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, grandfather and son. He will be thoroughly missed by all. Sending our sincere condolences to his beautiful family. Until we meet again COACH. Barry and Marguerite Verbeski

My thoughts are with the family as you mourn the loss of Henry. Mr. Boutilier was my teacher in Jr high at Saint Mikes. He was one of the teachers that stood out for me in my school years. He was intelligent and made class interesting for us. He had a way of seeming so serious and then would make a joke or do a funny gesture that would have the class all smiling and laughing. I still quote him when I say to my daughter " I did not fall off the back of the turnip truck yesterday" as he would often say when we were trying to pull a fast one in class. He was so kind to us and while we all came from different backgrounds he treated everyone equally. I respected him so much and the contributions he gave to the community. I echo the sentiments of the post and agree there will never be another Henry

To Cynthia and the Boutilier family:
My memories of Henry are as a fair referee that I didn’t always agree with, as a coach who brought real excitement to the entire island, and as a teacher who made a difference.
It was not until I had the privilege to work with Henry, at Morrison Jr. High, that I really got to know him. He made a difference at the school, simply because he cared about the students that we dealt with every day. We became good friends, and I can’t remember a harsh word between us. He was easy to work with, knew how to find things out when we needed information, trustworthy, and genuine.
Nobody can challenge his dedication to baseball, or to his family. He loved both!
Please accept my sincere sympathy for your loss.
May your pain be eased by knowing how highly Henry was regarded.
