Kaye was such a beloved friend to my late grandmother, and admired by our family. I felt so full after every encounter I had with her. I will miss seeing her at the church tea's, and enjoying her beautiful little asparagus sandwiches. She was loved by all and will be missed.

To Joe and Family;
On behalf of the Congregation of St. Michael & All Angels, we extend to you our thoughts and prayers at this time.
On a personal note, Kaye will not only be missed by you but also her Church family. There with a warm smile to welcome people as she welcomed me in 2010, she was very proud to say that she was a "Rose Blancher." Little did I think in 2010 when doing Clinical Pastoral Education at the Regional, I would be the parish priest in Kaye's Rose Blanche.
May she rest in peace and rise in glory.

Kaye removed stitches from the hand of a scared little boy and a friendship was born, making me but one of the friends she never had any shortage of. The world lost a bright light in Kay. Joe, Brent and all family members, I am so sorry for your loss. It's a big loss for all who knew her. She is in a happy place now. God bless!

Joe and family, I am very sorry to read about Kaye's passing, she was a wonderful lady. I have fond memories of my days growing up on Brookland Street and spending many hours in the Burton house with my good friend Brent . I made a trip up to Glace Bay several years back and Kaye was the first person that I went to see, we had lots of laughs that day with Kay telling my wife and sister all the story's about the mischief Brent and I got into when we were quite young. My condolences to your entire family and may she rest in peace.

A memory that I love to share about Auntie Kaye. In 2014, I was in Halifax on a course with the Military. I took a weekend trip up to Glace Bay to visit Auntie Kaye, Uncle Joe and Timmy. I went out one of the nights and when I returned, Auntie Kaye told me that there was a sandwich in the fridge for me. When I opened the fridge, there is was, a plate with a sandwich on it, covered in saran wrap. Even though it was an awesome sandwich, that wasn't the best part. It was the fact that she wrote Jamie on it, despite it only being her, Uncle Joe and me in the house. We love you and will miss you. XOXO

It is with great sorrow that I heard of the death of Kaye. I recall meeting her when I first arrived in Glace Bay more than fifty years ago. She greeted me with warmth and we remained dear friends since then. I was always welcomed at her home for a cup of tea and a good conversation. Her wise counsel was always appreciated. After I retired we kept in touch on a regular basis and now I will miss her. My deepest sympathy to her beloved husband Joe, sons and the rest of the family.

To Joe and family, I was deeply saddened at the news of Kay’s passing. Kay took me under her wing, provided counsel when needed, was a fountain of knowledge about patients’ medical history, made me many a cup of tea and toast late at night, was selfless about her knowledge, caring, and time. Her dedication to her family, friends, and patients knew no bounds. She was a devout Christian who lived the way of The Lord, as many will attest to. She will be missed by all.

Kay was a beautiful person, any time I met her, she never forgot who I was, she would say " little Barbie Wrathall ", I spent alot of time in the hospital when I was young, the first 5 1/2 yrs of my life and Kay was one of the nurses who looked after me, I don't remember , only what people would tell me, and Kay would tekk me every time she saw me. Kay also helped deliver my 2 children, , she was a wonderful nurse, at least to me and I cannot picture her not being that way with every one, I am so sorry to hear of her passing, God Bless you Kay, RIP
