Obituary of Jean Ann (Forward) MacLeod, Port Morien

Jean Ann MacLeod, age 71 passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 23rd, 2021 at her residence. Born in Glace Bay, Jean Ann was the daughter of the late William Joseph and Laura (Caty) Forward. Jean Ann was a member of the United Church. She enjoyed playing darts in her younger years, winning many awards and she also enjoyed playing cards. Jean Ann was a family-oriented lady, she loved watching her two grandchildren, Payge and Faith Yorke grow up. She spent many long nights visiting with her dear friends, Elizabeth Thomas and Brenda Cathcart. Jean Ann had 5 cats and a dog and she loved watching them play together. She is survived by her son, Jason Metcalfe, son in law, Sean Briand, sisters, Joyce Havens, Lavinia Forward, half sisters, Betty Ryan, Viola Allen (Jim), brothers, Henry Forward (Pat) and Joe Forward (Pam). Besides her parents, Jean Ann was predeceased by her husband, John Metcalfe, brothers, Clarence Forward, Raymond Forward, half brother, Alfred Forward and half sister, Thelma Carmichael. Cremation has taken place under the direction of V.J. Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, Glace Bay. A graveside service will be held at Black Brook Cemetery at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 17th 2021.Rev.
