Obituary of Daniel O'Neill

O’NEILL, Daniel Joseph Glace Bay / Hamilton Daniel "Dan" Joseph O’Neill was born on July 2, 1969 in Hamilton, Ontario and passed away on October 24, 2016 at home in Glace Bay in his 47 year. Danny was the son of Audrey (Redmond) O’Neill (deceased, Glace Bay, Nova Scotia) and James "Sonny" O’Neill (Glace Bay, Nova Scotia), brother to Kathleen Nixon (Hamilton, Ontario) and Ronnie O’Neill (Hamilton, Ontario), brother-in-law to Jeff Nixon and Uncle Dan to James and Jonathan Nixon of Hamilton and proud Dad to his Pug "Lilly". He will be sorely missed by numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Friends throughout Canada and the United States. Danny toiled in the restaurant, construction, security, limousine and customer service industries. Danny’s absence will be felt by his buddies at the fire pit, Karaoke Night at the Radio Club and his Sledgehammers hockey teammates. A true sports fan, Danny faithfully followed his hometown Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Philadelphia Flyers and New England Patriots. He had a weakness for old westerns. Danny was very open minded and had time for all genres of music. Danny was generous and forgiving to a fault. Danny’s gift was never holding a grudge. "A life too short; but a life well lived". In accordance with his wishes, no funeral services will be held. Cremation has taken place under the direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, Glace Bay.
