Obituary of Violet Harrington, Scotchtown

With great sadness we regret to announce the passing of Violet Harrington on April 17, 2021 at Cedarstone Enhanced Care in Truro. Violet was born in Scotchtown on June 15, 1926. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Agnes (Ramsay) Harrington. Violet was the last surviving member of her family. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by brother, William (Peggy) of Scotchtown; sisters, Helen (Charles) Langille of Tatamagouche, and Agnes (Oman) Langille of Malagash. Violet is survived by five nieces and three nephews. Violet moved to Cedarstone Enhanced Care in Truro in December, 2013 to be closer to her sister. Family members are appreciative of the respectful care provided by Cedarstone staff during her time with them. There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, New Waterford. A graveside service, led by Rev. Duncan Roach, will be held in Union Grove Cemetery, Scotchtown, on Sunday, June 6 at 2 p.m. Donations in Violet’s memory may be made to Union Grove Cemetery or a charity of your choice.
