Dear Russell and Reid and Copley Family,
I offer my deepest condolences on the loss of your mom. My contact with your mom was when I would visit your home after my school visits when you (Russell) were in Grade 5. Your mom was always so supportive and made a great cup of "Inverness" tea and goodies.
My memories of her are that she was a very hospitable woman with a wonderful sense of humour. I enjoyed our visits very much.
I am remembering all of the family in my thoughts and prayers. Sr. Connie MacIsaac

To the Reid children, as a former Invenesser, I had the pleasure of working with your Mother at Mary's Hospital, being teenagers at the time, with the Sisters keeping an eye on us, we enjoyed many happy times. In Halifax, both your parents attended our wedding in 1958, and also both your Mom and Dad were my Husband's Godparents when he was converted into the Catholic Church. My condolences to the children and Grandchildren, May she Rest in Peace, and I know there is quite a Reunion in Heaven

I am another of Eileen Durdle’s daughters and, like my sisters, I am very sad to hear of Kay’s passing. Kay took a special interest in Mum, and looked out for her in every way, and we are very grateful. Kay spoke often and proudly of her husband, children and of her wonderful grandchildren. She got great pleasure from sports, and knew her stats! I offer my condolences to you all.
Sincerely, Evelyn Nieforth ( Seaforth, N.S.)

When I think of my grandmother
I’m reminded of the Ocean
Of road trips to God’s Country
And her religious devotion
Her home was her temple, curls always in her hair
Her stature was soaring and skin so abundantly fair
I catch the cheers from the screen
Her rocking, minding the game
A cup of tea in her hands could always be seen
I hear the radio and the telephone ring
The tide bellowing off the cliffs in the yard
The back door swinging as family comes in
I reminisce of the simplicity,
I inhale homemade bread
I smile with memories of “their” house
And the love they both could spread
When I think of my grandmother
I embrace my families name
I delight in my fortune to have had her
A gentle woman I will always proclaim
❤️ Erin Reid Terrio

So sorry to hear of Kaye’s passing. She was a lovely lady with an abundance of compassion. From the first day my mother arrived at Maple Hill Manor, Kaye was kind enough to watch over her with the greatest of care. I also got to know Kaye and enjoy her company as she and mom shared a table for meals. I learned that she was a devoted wife who missed her husband and remembered him fondly, a proud mother who beamed when she spoke of her children and grandchildren and she was a wonderful friend to my mom and many others. Kaye was a true gem and she will be missed.
Sincerely, Joan Chafe (and mom Eileen Durdle)

So sorry to learn of the passing of this precious, beautiful soul who brought so much peace and joy to all you knew her. Our son was blessed to work at the Manor where he grew to know and love Kay. Through Raymond, I got to become her friend and we often chatted whenever an opportunity presented itself. To you, her dear family, we say a fond farewell to your dear sweet mom, please know that we hold you in prayer asking God to strengthen you to carry this heavy cross. Thoughts and prayers, Winnie Odo
