My sincere condolences to Ron's family and to his many friends. It was a continuous pleasure and honour to have worked with Ron as a job developer and he was my main mentor at the time as well as an inspirational friend. Ron always knew the correct answer on any matter asked. He continues to be an inspiration and I always felt blessed to be in his great company. I know he will live on in the hearts of others for he was an incredible contributor to society and a person of profound wisdom and incredible human warmth. Many blessings and thank you.

Very saddened to hear of Ron's passing. He and I worked as career counselors in Glace Bay for many years. He was a cherished co-worker and friend. We often traveled together to Halifax for meetings and conferences. Ron was so easy going and up for anything. He certainly didn't mind going to the mall. We had so many great conversations and laughs. Leaving our Glace Bay to take a position in Sydney was bittersweet. I was a tad emotional but he was right there with encouragement. Ron touched many lives and he certainly left a imprint on my heart. Joey and I send our deepest condolences.

To all of Ron's family - I first met Ron during the summer of 1980, when I was hired by CID for a summer grant that was exploring the many and varied barriers faced by people, and families of those, who were differently-abled. Alongside Dave Beaton, who was equally as head-strong, he forged the way for access rights and thus the Handi-Trans was born. We later became coworkers, as such, through our mutual work with Outreach employment agencies, and I was thrilled when Ron came to the Province as a fellow Career Counsellor.
I remember travelling with Ron to one of our annual Career Development conferences, and of course, he insisted on driving; I learned a lot about hand-operated vehicles on that trip. He showed everyone he worked with the realities of his life, when he refused to attend any event that was not easily accessible. As years went by, I learned how "not" to give assistance unless it was asked for. I also learned how to dance with a wheel-chair user during those awesome CID dances. He was a great Teacher.
We hugged every time we met, his smile was infectious, and his dry sense of humour was a riot. When he retired, he was obviously in pain; for that I am terribly sorry. Then, to hear of his passing......well, my heart is broken for all of you who loved him. I don't have to tell you what a wonderful man Ron was, but I thought I might share how much he touched the life of this once naive, but eager to learn, individual. I'll miss you, my Green-Gold Friend!!!!
