Sorry to see that Malcolm passed away! He and my father, John MacDonald - East Bay were 1st cousins. I remember visiting Malcom’s and Alex N’s with Daddy and Mom when we were younger. We loved doing those visits. And my sister Evelyn MacGillivray connected with Dave in Calgary. We think about our MacNeil family often. Condolences to all of Malcolm’s family from all of us in East Bay. May he RIP!

Dave, Vikki and all the MacNeil family, so sorry to hear of your Dad’s passing. May his wonderful memories give you comfort during this difficult time. I most likely met your Dad when I was a very little girl with my Dad, John J MacDonald, East Bay who is is a cousin of Malcolm and the MacNeil clan. My Dad always loved visiting all his relatives in New Waterford and Pipers Cove. When my husband and I went to Libya for work purposes in 1986, I wasn’t there long before getting a phone call from my Dad who couldn’t wait to tell me that I had a “cousin” in Libya. That’s when I learned that the only other “Cape Bretoner” there, low and behold, was my cousin, “twice removed” as my Dad would always say! It was great getting to know Dave & Vikki over the years, and my late brother Ron also taught their children here in Calgary. We still manage to see them at different functions here in Calgary. David, Genevieve, Paula, John Alan and Sandra my sympathy goes out to you and your families. I have many happy memories of growing up with you as our closest neighbours and our parents being great friends. Malkie often had us laughing out loud. He had a great sense of humour. Hi, Evelyn (Durdle) Nieforth here. I just heard about Malkie’s death, and the memories came rushing back. Your father and mother were good neighbours! I believe that makes Mum (Eileen) the last of the neighbourhood crew now, a sad distinction. Thinking of all the fun and activities on 8th and 9th streets back in the day…..and hearing that whistle at 8:30 that sent us all back to a few yards near your house. There was no better place to grow up. My condolences to you all.
