Each time… Each time I fill a birdfeeder, And see a chickadee, a robin, or a hummingbird, Each time I plant a seed, And see flowers grow, Each time I read about empires, The Romans, the Ottoman or the Greeks, Each time I think about a philosopher, And be reminded to ‘think for yourself’, Each time I taste jam, And think, “not good enough”, Each time I play bridge, And be reminded to save a toonie for the 50/50, Each time I pick berries, And wish I could bake a pie like you, Each time I think about Cape Breton, And you think of heaven, Each time I hear the word ‘forgiveness’, And thank you for forgiving me, Each time I think about my beloved Priyanka and Ravi, Each time I breathe, I will remember you Mom!
