Obituary of Valerie Patricia " Lilly" MacLeod, Glace Bay

Valerie Patricia MacLeod Glace Bay It is with great sadness and broken hearts that we, the family, announce the passing of our daughter, mother, sister, aunt and spouse. Valerie Patricia MacLeod passed away at home on July 31, 2021 at the age of 59. Valerie was born in Toronto, Ontario on October 27th, 1961 and was the daughter of Rose (McPherson) MacLeod, Sydney N.S., and the late James MacLeod and loving mother of Mark Lynk, New Waterford. N.S. Valerie worked at Victoria Haven Guest home for 26 years where she made many lasting friendships. She loved spending time with her family especially her son Mark and her precious granddaughter, Onyx Lynk, Ontario. Valerie was predeceased by her father James MacLeod, sister in infancy, Mary Elizabeth and grandparents, Leonard and Amy McPherson. Valerie is survived by her partner, James Routledge, her son Mark Lynk (Tina), mother, Rose MacLeod, sister, Belinda (Ed), brother, Rodney (Angela), nephews, Luke, Eugene and nieces Allison and Abigail. The visitation for Valerie will be held on Sunday, August 8, 2021 from 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm followed by the funeral service on Monday, August 9, 2021 at 11 am, all in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay. Burial will follow in St. Eugene's Cemetery, Dominion. Fr. Dan Boudreau officiating. Memorial donations in memory of Valerie may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Autism Society.
