Obituary of Wade Coffin, Sydney, Glace Bay

It is with great sadness that the family of Wade Coffin, age 54 announce his sudden passing on Thursday, August 19th, 2021 at his residence in Sydney. Born in Glace Bay, Wade was the son of Kelvin & Eileen (McCabe) Coffin. Wade attended local schools in Glace Bay and later attended St. FX and Dalhousie Universities, majoring in music and becoming a proficient drummer. He grew up in the Scouting Movement and with the Venturers was the recipient of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award. While in Halifax, he was employed with the IWK musical therapy and later was employed with Regis Repair Service in Toronto. Besides his parents, Wade is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth, two brothers, Karl (Donna-Deceased), Robert (Carly) Coffin, three nephews, Dylan, Luke, Alex, niece, Ellie , uncles, aunts and cousins. Cremation has taken place. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 26th at 11 a.m. in the V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay. Rev. Duncan Roach officiating. Memorial donations in memory of Wade may be made to the Hospice Foundation or a charity of one's choice.
