Obituary of Ann F. McEachern, New Victoria

It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Ann F. McEachern, 67, of New Victoria on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, NS. Born in New Waterford, Ann was a daughter of the late William 'Billy' and Claire (Murphy) Donohue. Ann was an exceptional wife, mother, and grandmother. She cared deeply for her family and she always provided a loving and warm home for her children, grandchildren and their friends. She was often referred to as "Ma" by the neighborhood kids. No matter how sick she was, she was always determined to pull through and her family always came first. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like. Ann enjoyed cooking, baking for her family, gardening and walking her dogs, Buddy and Misty, to the lighthouse in New Victoria. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family and will be missed by all who knew her. Surviving are her husband of over 47 years, Jerry McEachern; daughter, Tanya McEachern (Jamie MacKinnon), Albert Bridge; son, Jerry McEachern Jr. (Candace Henry), Scotchtown; sister, Gail (Henry) Digero, New Victoria; grandchildren, Jessica, Autumn, Cari; great-grandchild, Quinn. Besides her parents, Ann was predeceased by a brother, Randy. There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care and guidance of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, New Waterford. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 4, 2021 at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph Cemetery, New Victoria, with Father Peter McLeod officiating. Covid-19 protocols will be in place. Donations in her memory may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada. Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at: www.vjmcgillivray.ca.
