Obituary of Lindsay McMullin, New Waterford

It is with sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of our daughter, sister, niece, cousin and friend, Lindsay McMullin, age 37, on September 20, 2021 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in New Waterford, she was a daughter of Brian and Pauline (Chambers) McMullin. Lindsay enjoyed animals, especially her fur babies, Mitzy and Mishea. You could usually find her camping out Mira, on any beach or at the Legion on 'funday' playing meat roll with her friends. She was known as the family photographer; always catching family memories. Lindsay was the most beautiful daughter a mother and father could ever have. She loved her parents, brothers, cousins (who were like sisters) and friends. Surviving are brothers, Wade Chambers, New Waterford and Cory McDonald, Ontario; aunts, uncles, cousins and special aunt, Cathy. Lindsay was predeceased by her brother, Raymond Chambers. Special thanks to the EHS drivers and staff at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital for your care and support. Visitation will be held in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith Street, New Waterford on Friday, September 24, 2021 from 10 a.m - noon. A Funeral Mass of celebration will take place on the same day at 1 p.m. in the Parish Church of St. Leonard with Father Peter McLeod officiating. Cremation will follow with burial in Mount Carmel Cemetery at a later date. Limited seating in the church with masks and social distancing mandatory at both the visitation and Funeral Mass. Immediately after the mass, there will be a reception held at the Army, Navy, Airforce, Unit 217, New Waterford (Covid restrictions in place). Donations in her memory may be made to the Cape Breton Shelter - Nova Scotia SPCA. Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at: www.vjmcgillivray.ca.
