Obituary of Marion Delores Chiasson, RN, Glace Bay/ Reserve Mines

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marion Chiasson, age 77 formerly of Reserve Mines on Tuesday, December 28th, 2021 at Seaview Manor, Glace Bay. Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late John Joseph “Joe” & Margaret Ellen (Howley) Chiasson. Marion graduated in 1966 with her R.N. Diploma from St. Joseph’s School of Nursing, Glace Bay. She worked her entire career (29 years) in the pediatric unit at St. Joseph’s, retiring in 1995. Marion belonged to the Ladies Aux. Reserve Mines Fire Department. She loved playing darts, bowling, doing ceramics and gardening. Marion loved children and especially enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews. She is survived by her sister, Deborah, R.N., Fredericton, NB, two brothers, John (Carol) Chiasson, Glace Bay, James (Frances) Chiasson, Port Hawkesbury, nieces, nephews, J.J., Leanne, Darren, Steven, Nicole, Chris, Michael Chiasson and grandnieces and grandnephews. Besides her parents, Marion was predeceased by her brother, Wayne Chiasson and her sister in law, Bev (Coffin) Chiasson. A special thank you to the staff of Seaview Manor for their care & compassion. There is no visitation. Cremation has taken place. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 4th, 2022 at 11 am in St. Joseph’s Church, Reserve Mines. Fr. Dan Boudreau presiding.
