Obituary of Bob Clark, Glace Bay

Robert Josiah Clark, 80 of Glace Bay passed away on, Friday, December 31, 2021 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in Glace Bay, he was a son of the late Walter and Evelyn (Vaders) Clark. Bob grew up mainly on North Street, and after trying the mines and fisheries, like many of his generation left Cape Breton for the big city of Toronto to make a living and raise his family. A very serious industrial accident forced him into retirement in 1983. He settled back in Cape Breton in 1996 and was later joined by his wife, Ruth and their son, Rob. A strong man, Bob was longsuffering and generous of spirit always proud to help out if he could. He will be missed, but always fondly remembered and loved. Surviving is his son, Rob, several siblings and a large extended family. Besides his parents, and his wife Ruth, Bob was predeceased by a daughter, Mary in infancy, and several siblings. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay. At Bob’s request, there will not be a service at this time.
