Obituary of Annie Murphy, Reserve Mines

Annie Maurina (Roach) Murphy Reserve Mines Annie Murphy, age 90 passed away peacefully at her residence on Thursday, January 13th, 2022. Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late David Patrick & Mary Ellen (Doucette) Roach. Our mother belonged to St. Joseph’s CWL for 51 years, she was a member of St. Joseph’s Choir, St. Joseph’s Men’s Club Ladies Auxiliary and St. Joseph’s Mixed Bowling League. She was employed at Rendezvous Restaurant, Reserve Drive In, Sonny’s Pizza, Brad’s Pizza and also was a cook for the Nuns at St. Joseph’s Convent. Annie is survived by six daughters, Rosita (Paul) Lacroix, Elizabeth “Wee Wee” (Byron “Marco”) Aucoin, Marilyn (Rick) Morrison, Anne (Robert) Stubbert, Elaine (Edward) McInnis, Frances “Fran” (Robert) Warcop, two sons, Burton Jr. “Binky” (Marie Slade), David (Julie) Murphy, one sister, Leona Desrosiers, and one brother, John Philip Roach. Also surviving are grandchildren, Robert & Allen Lacroix, Scott, Jamie, Brad Aucoin, Jason & Sean McInnis, Ungelique Murphy, Trent Warcop, Nicole & Christopher Stubbert, Rebecca Savill, Roderick Morrison, Jacqueline Lewis, Lynette Murphy, Jason Pond, Marissa & Kaitlyn Murphy. Annie was predeceased by her husband, Burton Sr., sons, Joseph “Doozy”, Kevin and Gary, grandson, Jordan Marsh, brothers, Leo, Harry, Dan Joe, Norman, Ronnie, sisters, Lucy Roach and Pauline Hinchey. Special mention to Margie Lussier, Lily MacDonald, Judy Jacques, Catherine Burke, Sandi Stanton, County Homemakers, special friend, Ernie Lussier, Dr. David Ley, Ann and Lynn. Cremation has taken place. A private funeral mass will be held in St. Joseph’s Church with Fr. Dan Boudreau presiding. Burial will be at a later date in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations in memory of Annie may be made to St. Joseph’s Cemetery Fund, Reserve Mines.
