Obituary of Angus "Angie" Joseph MacDougall, Donkin

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved dad, grandpa and great grandfather, Angus Joseph “Angie” MacDougall, age 93 on Wednesday, January 26th, 2022 at Taigh Na Mara, Glace Bay. Born in Donkin on Oct. 25th, 1928, he was a son of the late Ronald & Elsie (MacAskill) MacDougall. Angie was a member of St. Gregory’s Parish in Donkin and a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 5, Donkin, the Cape Breton Korean Veterans Association and a member of Cape Breton Pipefitters Union. Angus lived for his family, they meant everything to him. He is survived by his daughters, Georgina Coleen (Glen) Hall, Lloydminster, Alberta, Cecelia Louise MacKenzie, Sydney, sister, Flora Dillon, Donkin, seven grandchildren, Betty, Glenn, Elliot, Nathan, Danielle, Stacy, Maggie and four great grandchildren, Alex, Austin, Ava and Alissa. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Isabel Favaro, son, Ronnie, brothers, Rannie, Garfield, Roderick and baby, Kenneth. Donations in honor of Angus can be made to the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 5, Donkin or St. Gregory’s Church / Cemetery Fund. We would like to thank Dr. MacLean and all the staff at Taigh Na Mara for the wonderful care given to Dad these last few years. There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, Glace Bay. A private mass will be held at St. Gregory’s Church, Donkin. A public burial will take place on Wednesday, February 2nd, 2022 at 11:45 am in St. Gregory’s Cemetery, Donkin, weather permitting.
