Obituary of Mary Elizabeth MacDougall, Donkin

With broken hearts, we the family announce the peaceful passing of Mary MacDougall, age 75 of Donkin on Wednesday, February, 9th, 2022 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney with her family by her side. Born in Glace Bay, Mary was the daughter of the late Henry & Kathleen (Currie) Baxter. She was employed for several years at Seaview Manor, Glace Bay in the Housekeeping Dept. and was also a longtime member of St. Gregory’s Church, Donkin. Mary is survived by her daughter and best friend, Trina and son in law, Kevin Clements, sisters, Brenda (Rick MacDougall-Deceased), LeeAnn (George Watt) and her brother, Arthur (Kathy). Also surviving are her grandchildren who were the center of her universe, Logan, Ontario, Cole, Kailey, and Grayson, Glace Bay. She had a special bond with each of them. Mary also loved her nieces and nephews very much. Besides her parents, Mary was predeceased by her husband, Frank MacDougall, son, Shane MacDougall, stepmother, Lila Rumbolt, brother, Bobbie Baxter & his wife “Frankie” and her father & mother in law, John & Ann MacDougall. Cremation has taken place. Due to Covid -19 restrictions, a private service will be held in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay with Fr. Norman MacPhee presiding. Special thanks to Dale and the Pharmasave Staff (Glace Bay) for their helpfulness and kindness. Memorial donations in memory of Mary may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada or Mental Health & Addiction Services, CBRH, Sydney (902) 567-7752.
