Obituary of Eunice Cote, Glace Bay

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Eunice Cote on Wednesday, February 23rd, 2022 at Maple Hill Manor, New Waterford. Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Donald John and Margaret (MacNeil) MacNeil. Eunice was employed by the Town of Glace Bay, retiring in 1995. She was a member of St. Anne’s Church, Glace Bay. She will be remembered as a very quiet and compassionate lady. Eunice is survived by her very devoted husband of 49 years, Daniel Cote, sister, Leone Trainor, Ontario, many nieces, nephews, grandnephew, Ryan MacNeil, Ottawa, sisters in law, Cassie Cote, Carmen Cote and her dear friend, Annie Smith, Glace Bay. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Eric (Colleen), Bernard (Judy), sister, Jean (Lou) Buckland and her brother in law, Bill Cote. Special thanks to Maple Hill Manor, New Waterford, New Waterford Home Care and the V.O.N. Cremation has taken place under the direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay. The funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday, June 18/22 at 11 am in the funeral home chapel with Fr. Norman MacPhee officiating followed by interment in St. Anne's Cemetery, Glace Bay. A reception will take place in the funeral home. Memorial donations in memory of Eunice may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or a charity of one’s choice.
