Obituary of Paula Marie McMullin, Reserve Mines

Paula Marie McMullin, 58, passed away peacefully at the Glace Bay General Hospital on March 2,2022. Paula was the youngest daughter of the late Michael and Margaret (O’Brien) McMullin, Centerville, Reserve Mines. In her younger years, Paula attended school at Grand Lake. She enjoyed TV, Christmas Daddies and the IWK Telethon for which she saved her coins to donate. She greatly enjoyed country music, her birthday parties, and especially a houseful of family and their friends to laugh and sing with. Following her parents passing, Dolly and Buddy Bryden became her guardian and caregivers, and along with their children, her second family. She was our special girl, loved by all, and we will miss her dearly. For the past several years, the special care provided by her Homecare and VON family allowed her to stay in her family home until her recent illness. We are truly grateful for all their loving care. She is survived by sisters, Dollena Bryden, Anne Gouthro, Marie McNeil (Francis), Leona MacDonald (Roy), Patricia Campbell (Francis), nieces, Bernadette Poirier, Ellen Bryden; Joanne Rutherford, Paula Brandon, Helen Gouthro,Tammy Gouthro; Lisa Kreitzer, Katherine McNeil, Kate Campbell, nephews, Michael (Buddy)Bryden, Francis McNeil Jr., Roy Kennedy Jr., Ryan MacDonald, Brian and Ian Campbell and many grand nieces and nephews, including Ashley Donovan and Marissa Bryden, who grew up with Paula. Besides her parents, Paula was predeceased by her infant brother, Neil Francis, grandparents, Neil and Maryanne McMullin, Richard and Anne O’Brien, brothers-in-law, Buddy (Poppy) Bryden and Sonny Gouthro.
