Obituary of Tanya Lynn Dauphney: New Waterford,Sydney

It is with deep sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Tanya Lynn Dauphney, 45, on Friday, April 1, 2022 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in New Waterford, she is the daughter of David and Florence (Blewer) Dauphney. Tanya was most recently employed with the Cape Breton-Victoria Regional Centre for Education as a cleaner. Prior to that, she worked at the Hearthstone Inn and Tim Hortons in both Whitney Pier and Membertou. Tanya loved going to the Casino and camping, namely at Lakeview Treasure Campgrounds in Catalone. Surviving are sons, John, Kurtis, Jackson, all of Sydney and Coady, New Waterford; brothers, Stephen, Daniel, Emmette, and sister, Virginia (Michael) McLeod, all of New Waterford; nine grandchildren, Veronica, Leilah, Taylor, Delilah, Sylvie, Isaac, Leland, and Landon; niece, Jolene; nephews, D.J., Douglas, Brett, Brandon, and Tanner; two great-nieces, Bailee and Everlee. Tanya was predeceased by a daughter, Skye, in infancy. Cremation has taken place. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 12 from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. all in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home Chapel, 380 Smith Street, New Waterford, with Rev. Duncan Roach officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
