Obituary of Robert 'Bobby' Ross, New Waterford

It is with sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Robert 'Bobby' Ross, 81, on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at Maple Hill Manor, New Waterford. Born in New Waterford, he was a son of the late Thomas and Agnes (Corrigan) Ross. Bobby worked in Nos. 18, 26, Lingan and Phalen Coal Mines for over 37 years, retiring as General Manager. He enjoyed travelling throughout Canada and the US on his motorcycle with his wife, Betty. Bobby also loved spending time with his grandchildren and was proud to be a part of all their accomplishments. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Elizabeth 'Betty' Ross; daughter, Lynn (Kenny) ; sons, Robbie (Ashley), Ian (Jolene); brother, Thomas (Jeanette), all of New Waterford; grandchildren, Ross, Rebecca, Katie, Riley, Joshua, Matthew, Kearley, Ryker, Sarah and Paige; three great-grandchildren, Easton, Allie, and Olivia; many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Bobby was predeceased by his brother, Harvey. There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. A funeral service will be held in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home Chapel, 380 Smith Street, New Waterford on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Myrna MacMullin officiating. Burial will take place at a later date.
