It is with great sadness, that we announce the passing of Murray Joseph Kelloway, age 79 on Tuesday, April 19th, 2022, at his residence in Dartmouth. Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Joseph & Marion (Payne) Kelloway. Murray operated the Pitt Street Dairy in Glace Bay with his wife Joan from 1971 to 1996. He moved to Halifax where he managed a condominium until his retirement in 2007. In his earlier years, Murray played little league baseball and attended Holy Cross School and St Michael’s High School. He also enjoyed playing baseball, darts and broomball in Caledonia as well as coaching his son’s bantam hockey team. Murray was an avid sports fan; his favorite team was the Toronto Maple Leaf’s and he attended their last Stanley Cup Parade. His greatest joy was his family, he loved to make us laugh, he would spend hours playing “air guitar” with his grandchildren and would surround himself with pictures to always keep us close by.
