We, the family are heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved and dear Mother, Paulette Elizabeth Aucoin from New Victoria. Born on Sept 23rd, 1942, Paulette passed away at home on Friday, May 20th, 2022 surrounded by her loving family and fur babies after a sudden but courageous battle with cancer. Paulette resided in New Victoria most of her life, but spent the last 5 years with her daughter and son in law in Glace Bay, NS. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Alice Aucoin (New Victoria), her daughter, Lorina Lynn Jollie (New Victoria) and the love of her life, Donald Alexander Jollie (New Waterford). BJ (Ashley) Petrie, Sydney, James Petrie (Megan), Sydney and great grandson, Jonathon Thomas Petrie, Sydney. Also surviving are her sisters, Elaine (Lawrence, deceased), Sydney and Collena (Eric, deceased) New Waterford, brothers, John (Lois), Halifax, Melvin (Jackie), Ontario, Stevie (Leona), New Waterford and many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. Paulette will be dearly missed by her lifelong friends whom she adored with all her heart, Ruth MacEachern, Maria Lamey, Mary Vickers, Melinda MacKinnon, Annie May MacKinnon and all the Tighe Family who were like her brothers and sisters throughout her life growing up and into her later years. Paulette loved to sing, play piano and guitar and grew up with music in her household as a daily routine. In her younger years she loved to sing along side her brothers in bands and loved to entertain musicians with her mother, Alice Aucoin at their home in New Victoria. This was always a house full of music, laughter and love. We would like to take this time to thank, Dr. Jennifer Lange and staff, Bernadette Mac Donald (RN), all the nursing staff at New Waterford Hospital, VON, Palliative Care, The Golden Girls Homecare, and Fr. Duaine Devereaux. We cannot thank or express our greatest gratitude to her sister, Elaine Marie Aucoin and her nephew, Neil McNeil for everything they did for mom and for us in her final days at home. Cremation has taken place under the direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith Street, New Waterford. There will be a celebration of Paulette's life in St Leonard's Parish, New Waterford on Wednesday, May 25th, 2022 at 10 a.m. with burial to follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, New Victoria. Fr.
