Obituary of Marguerite Blanche Lewis, New Waterford
It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of Marguerite on July 7,2022 at the age of 92.
She was the daughter of the late George and Rhoda (Wilson) Lewis.
Marguerite was a lifetime member of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Dominion. In early years, she was employed at Eaton Company, New Waterford and upon closure of the store she moved to New Glasgow, N.S. where she was employed by McKean’s Flowers Ltd. During her time there, she learned floral design. Upon her return home to New Waterford years later, she was employed at Bishop Shoes in Sydney until her retirement.
Marguerite loved to dance. bowl, and work in the garden but especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her bothers, Gerald and Wayne. She is survived by her brother, William (Wilda), sisters-in- law, Lorraine Lewis and Geraldine Lewis. Marguerite is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Arthur (Brenda) Lewis, Robert (Bernadette) Lewis, Glenn (Joan) Lewis, Michelle (Bill) Vokey, Maureen (Ken) MacDonald, Patrick (Meg Green) Lewis, Arlene (Paul) Nickituk, Keith Lewis (Ellen), along with many great-nieces and nephews.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care and guidance of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith Street, New Waterford. A funeral Service will be held Tuesday, July 12 at 2 p.m. in the Church of the Good Shepherd, Dominion, with the Rev. Myrna MacMullin officiating. A reception will be held in the Church Hall with interment to follow at the Good Shepherd Cemetery, Centreville Road, Reserve Mines. The family would like to thank the staff of Maple Hill Manor for all the wonderful care and compassion they showed Marguerite during her time there.
