Obituary of Ann Marie Racki, New Waterford

It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden death of Ann Marie Racki (MacKinnon) at her home in New Waterford on July 7, 2022 at the age of 69. 

Ann Marie was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary MacKinnon. She was a pillar to her family and often referred to as “Mama Bear”.  Ann Marie was always known to have a huge heart and to always help out anyone she could. 

Ann Marie leaves behind a large family of not only her own children but the children of many friends and family members.  Mother to Loni Racki McCarthy (Rob), Chrissie (deceased) (Anthony) DeGiobbi, Shelley (Steve) Kunkel and Michael Craig Racki (Lynne);  

grandmother to Tyler, Jesse, Dante (Ceilidh), Cole (Sarah) and Hannah DeGiobbi, Evan and Audrey McCarthy, Lindsy and Shaylin Kunkel, Lola Chan; great-grandmother to Kallie and Carson; sister to Michael (deceased), Bernie (Jeanette), Roddie (Gail) MacKinnon; aunt to Michelle, Bobby, Gary, Cheryl, Amanda, Sean and so many “love them like they are my own” people.  Ann Marie loved large and the list is long of people’s lives she touched. 

Cremation has taken place and a private service will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2022 in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith Street, New Waterford, N.S. with Father Jim Oliver officiating.
